The Victorian Government’s current construction plan will necessitate the killing of 113 trees (most 40-100 years old!) next to Moreland Station.
Cyclists and walkers will be merged together at several key points with no safe, separated or convenient way to cross Bell St, Munro St or Moreland Road.
Calls for consultation on improved design have been ignored
WE MUST ACT NOW!
Let’s fill the park with people who care!
Want to do more?
It’s urgent the decision-makers hear from Moreland residents right now. We can still impact the design of the Moreland-Bell level crossing removals to make them better.
Write to these politicians and tell them you want:
- A design that protects the Gandolfo Gardens’ significant established trees.
Sparing a few mature trees at the perimeter is not good enough for residents of Brunswick and Coburg who use the park and station. Residents of Coburg and Brunswick already experience hotter temperatures than those living in parts of Melbourne with better, more established trees canopy. New trees will not be the same and may not survive to grow to the size of these trees.
- Improvements for walking, cycling and public transport users
Tell them why this matters to you.
